Word for word
Sarah: I've been thinking about you, and this one's for you. If you ever feel like God wouldn't want someone like you around, listen to 1 Timothy 1:15.
Scripture: The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Sarah: It's a letter, traditionally credited to Paul, written to a younger colleague named Timothy, who was serving in Ephesus. Paul encourages him, and he gets really honest about his own past.
Sarah: You'd expect someone like that to have it all together. I did too, honestly. But that's not how he describes himself.
Sarah: Right before this, he calls himself a blasphemer and a persecutor. Still, he says he received mercy, and that it's an example of Jesus' patience for anyone who'd believe.
Sarah: Notice the order. The mercy came first, before he'd cleaned anything up. I know that's hard to believe sometimes. It was hard for me too.
Sarah: I was lost too, and I still fall short. I'm not here because I'm good enough. I'm here by grace, through trusting Jesus.
Sarah: I'm not saying this to make you feel small. I'm saying it because I love you, and I want you there with me.
Sarah: If you want, try telling God, 'I want to know you.' Or reach out to me anytime. The door's always open. Follow along for more.
