Questions to talk about
Word for word
Mark: Honestly, I've always wondered how anyone is supposed to know they're okay with God. Where do you even start?
Sarah: I've wondered that too. Jesus told his friends he was going to prepare a place for them, and Thomas asked how they'd find the way. Here's what he said.
Scripture: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Mark: Okay, but that sounds pretty closed off. Doesn't it feel like a shut door for people who aren't sure?
Sarah: I hear that. But he's talking to friends who said they didn't know the way. He wasn't shutting anyone out; he promised to come back and receive them.
Mark: But I've messed up a lot, Sarah. I don't think I'm good enough for any of that.
Sarah: Neither am I. I was lost too, and I still fall short. Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and we're saved by trusting him. That's grace.
Mark: So it's not about getting my life together first?
Sarah: No. Come as you are. I don't have every answer, but I know this: I love you, and I want you there with me.
Sarah: If you're wondering, try telling God honestly, "I want to know you." And if you'd like to talk, I'm right here. Follow along for more.
